Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. She's performed on Broadway and in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine has been born Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as played piano. Her musical career began in Atlanta in Spellman College. The very first song to feature her voice was called Stalk You, a Japanese house 12 song. It has been remixed and a component of her set. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained attention in the performances that took place over four days during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing at Barack Obama's 2009 Inauguration.
