John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado who focused on folk pop music brought joy to millions. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in love with Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. A few beat a path through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular national anthems in his new home. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame has stated in his report that John Denver was the best artist to capture Colorado. Denver was the premier Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He is the face of Colorado to many across the globe. Certainly in my travels you meet someone from the opposite part of the globe, someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Take Me Home Country Roads was among Denver's top 10 solo accomplishment after performing in small folk groups. It was co-written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune to imitate the style of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version, and was certain it would eventually become a Top 10 chart hit. The song was recorded by the singer only a few days afterward following a performance to crowds of enthusiastic fans at Washington D.C.
